Oh, finally

so, I found some time to blog. Oh, how I've missed it. This is going to be a pretty simple week for me, I think. I had class today, clinical for tues/wed, NOTHING on thursday!!! and then class (with a test) on Friday. And then I'm off to bloomfield :) That's exciting. I'm actually going to be in bloomington over the weekend...which is kind of strange, because that's where dorito is going to be too. We just can't get away from each other. I don't know what andy's got planned, but if doris and I have time then we might have to search out the blood bank and give...we haven't had time to do that recently and we have to do it before some of our final Uganda shots.

Speaking of Uganda...it's exciting. I'm leaving in a little less than 4 weeks. I can't wait to get on that plane...I know after the 36 hour flight I'll be saying something different, but I'm pretty happy about it. Can you imagine how many books I can get read in that time? It's going to be great...(I suppose I could take some NCLEX review books and homework too...)

Anyway, so life is fun. I was pretty much sick last week, so I'm pretty happy about the B that I got on my test that I took Friday since I went to awana anyway, missed some class on Thursday, and finished up my careplan in lieu of studying. B's are okay :)

Alright, so that's that. I think I'll go now. I'm not sure what I'll do. My clinicals are in Marion this week, so I'm thinking about spending the night with the Story's if they don't mind...that way I'll save on gas and time :)

Now, just wait a little while and all those quotes will be changed :)
OH, and I'm moving to vincennes right after Jon's wedding in July!!!

school and Uganda excitement :)

So, I just finished taking my first test of the semester...we'll see how that went. I don't feel too bad about it right now, but you never know with these nursing things.

On a more exciting note, we had a Uganda meeting :) Very happy. I have a gondo sized list of stuff that I have to pack. I would love to start the packing right now, but I suppose I should wait...just a little more than 5 weeks before I leave. I found out I will be able use email one time right when I get to Uganda. So, at least all you worriers will know I made it there. I'm so excited about everything that's going to happen. I'm not living in the same village with Mary or Doris though -which will be interesting, they probably couldn't handle all of us in the same village -how does anderson manage? Anyway, the whole trip has me incredibly excited. I need to go to goodwill and buy a couple of skirts :) Cristy is checking on t-shirts and I'm in charge of mennigitis. I'm so incredibly excited!!! Happy, I am :)

Anyway, just two more days of hosptial clinical....I begged for a two hour delay. The prof said that might happen :) How exciting.

Have a great day! :)

Someone tore my ear off...

oh wait, no...it's still attached. But sometimes I wished they (my ears) just didn't work. Sometimes all this lecture is just too much to take. It's crazy, insane. I'm about to finish the seventh hour of lecture for today. Lunch was almost fun though. And I'm happy, but it's a lot of just sit and listen and write stuff down for that long. I'm not sure how much of it I can actually absorb, which is sad...but maybe it will all be in notes.

Alright, so my mommy's in Thailand now! I called Thailand Sunday night (it was Monday morning there). I got to talk to my mom and she really likes it. She said that the plane ride was really long...but I'm really excited for her today.

I CAN'T WAIT TO GO TO UGANDA! It'll be like the biggest road trip ever with mary and doris -and it's not really on a road, it's flying in the sky.
Happiness awaits me...if I can only get the papers to work out.

Love ya lots!!!

School has begun...

wow, and it's come with a vengence. I feel like there's a lot to do- not quite as overwhelmed as on Wednesday, but still there is lots to do. Almost every assignment is due by the end of February because we're gone for all of March and management clinicals and Spring Break are during April and May is graduation. So, mostly just a couple of months of this insane lecture stuff. It's like 7 hours of lecture every Monday and Friday...which definitely takes its toll on both student and professor alike. Anyway, it's scary and exciting to graduate...and then I have lots of decisions to make about where to live and what to do and all after that...I feel like things are starting to work out (usually a positive side-effect of prayer). I talked to Gwyndolyn today and it's fairly exciting to think about the whole working and apt thing. I can't wait to see what I can do with all the extra time I'll have after school. I mean, I'll probably be working 40 hours a week...but then I won't have anything to do in all the other time. It'll be exciting. And if I work 12 hr shifts, I'll only work 3-4 days/week. (I'd rather have 8hr evening shift though.) Anyway, school is draining...but I'm so close to the end and it's getting exciting...finally. And Uganda is coming closer and closer (not literaly, the country is actually stationary...but soon I'll be flying there.)
So, lots of happiness...lots of work...lots of thinking...lots of planning...lots of living out what God has planned.
The funny thing is, none of this is anything like what I dreamed before...things have turned out so differently...not bad, just different. And I think I like it.

Sleep

So you would think now (while still on break and not having to go back to school quite yet) would be the opportune time to sleep, right? Me too...but you know those nights where your eyes are tired, but your brain didn't quite get the message? That's what's happened. Don't ya hate that? Silly brain...it just keeps spinning and thinking and wondering and such. It should stop.

Things aren't really exciting around here, I don't think. Church went as usual. Andy let me borrow his camera...which has been a little bit fun. I went to Terre Haute with Misti the other day just for a cowboy hat...crazy, but fun :) Umm, Doris and Mary are planning to come back sometime tomorrow. Doris changed the bridesmaids dresses...again - maybe this is the one? :) Anyway...My mom is leaving for Thailand on Friday. She doesn't seem to be too excited, but I'm excited for her. Since packing bags is one of my favorite things to do in relation to trip-taking, she said I could pack all her bags...that's exciting for both of us because I love it and she dreads it.

The church voted to hire an associate pastor, and they've called Chris -the guy that came to check things out last week... It's all up to him now...will he come or stay?

And I feel like I've got a lot of decisions to make. It seems like last week that people were telling me not to worry about where I would work or what I'd do. They said I had plenty of time to decide...I'm not sure what they were thinking...FOUR YEARS PASSED BY QUITE QUICKLY! Plus, I have this problem of my heart luring me towards the south-western part of the state...oh well :)

Hopefullly, this semester will be good...but mostly, I think it will go quick.
Much Love :)

Happy Break Fun

well, the paper finally got that paper done...after I started actually working hard on it I wished I had more time to do more to it. I think if I could have kept it though, I never would have thought that I was done. So, maybe this is for the best. It's so weird now because I don't have anything to do. It's so cool and strange all at the same time. Anyway, my three goals for break that I have left to accomplish are:

1. Read a book for fun. (this is in progress right now, I got three from the library)
2. Clean out my car -really good. (this hasn't been done since camp)
3. Sort my clothes for goodwill. (I've just gotta get rid of some stuff)

I think that I might get these done. Saturday I'm going to terre haute with misti...what fun :)
There's a million other things that I'd like to do too with my time off, but I just can't. I'd like to start another scrapbook...or finish some I have. I'd like to talk more to apt people in Vincennes, figure out good places to work...and other fun stuff like that. I still need a final Hep A shot...random stuff like that.

Anyway...I saw gwyn again (and seth too)...and it was fun. Great Arby's pictures and everything :)

Alright, so only 5 days of break left...I wish it was more like 10, but oh well. I'm going to do my best to make it last!!!!

Oh, the Places You'll Go...
so, exciting things are happening in the life of amanda. And, I suppose that people come here to find out what they are. So, here goes:

andy is fun
arkansas is fun
roadtrips are fun
andy+roadtrip from arkansas= mega fun

I'm working on that crazy paper...but somewhere tonight I got this big burst of motivational energy, so I think it will be okay. I have three days to finish it -woohoo :)
Let's see...I got the best grades of my college career this semester. That's exciting. I'm going with Gwyn on Tuesday to look at apartments...which is scary -I'm terrified...but exciting none the less.

OH! and AJ is alive! He was born Dec 29th, and he's the cutest thing in the world...or at least really really close.

and...I'm going to the boot city place eight miles south of terre haute with misti soon....

sounds like a lot of traveling...could be a lot of fun

mom leaves for Thailand really soon and Uganda isn't too far away.
Oh! And I talked to cindy on the phone the other day...she got her tonsils out -which sounds bad, but it's probably a good thing. :)

Have a great night
